Fire Safety and Severe
Weather Training Trailer

2757 is our Community training trailer. It is used during
fire prevention week at our local schools, at special events
such as our fire fest, and also used in neighboring areas for
things like the Porter County Fair.
This trailer is equipped to conduct fire prevention trainings
for all ages and also conduct weather safety trainings. Fire
prevention equipment include a remote controlled smoke machine
that is piped throughout the trailer to add realism to the fire
awareness training, a stove with rotating pot to show children
the correct position in which the handle is to be when cooking,
a phone that is locally linked to the control room so that
children can learn how communicate with dispatchers in the event
of an emergency, a temperature controlled door to teach children
how to feel for heat and why it is important to use the back of
your hand, and a window in the rear of the trailer used as
emergency egress for the participants at the end of the
training. During the fire prevention training we also take
time to talk with participants |
