Five Injured in South Haven Accident
SOUTH HAVEN | Little information was available Saturday on a Friday evening accident that sent five people to the hospital, including a child airlifted to a suburban Chicago facility.
The accident occurred about 7:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of U.S. 6 and McCool Road.
Lt. Chris Eckert, Porter County Sheriff's Department spokesman, said a full report would not be available until Monday. Eckert said two vehicles were involved in the accident and one individual was ejected from one of the vehicles.
South Haven Fire Chief Ron Brehmer said five patients were transported, some of whom had minor injuries.
A child, however, was airlifted to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Ill. No report on the condition of that child or anyone else involved in the accident was available Saturday.
In addition to South Haven Fire Department and sheriff's police, Portage police and emergency medical services and Porter hospital ambulances responded to the scene.
